At Nurture Tree Academy in Edenvale, we strive to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive learning space where every child can grow and flourish. Whether a child experiences learning challenges or simply needs a more personalised approach, we meet them with understanding, encouragement, and a strengths-based mindset. We believe every child can succeed when they feel supported and confident. Our individualised teaching, multi-sensory methods, and gentle guidance help children build independence, discover their abilities, and develop a genuine love for learning. With small group sessions and one-on-one support, each learner is seen, heard, and truly valued. At the heart of our centre are kindness, patience, and creativity—ensuring every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential, providing the best of both worlds from a homeschool/tuisonderig and structured school environment.

We currently offer the Impaq curriculum as a registered Impaq centre, assist with GED-registered students, and will be introducing a Remedial Curriculum (registered with SACAI) in 2027 as well. Space is limited, and that is how we prefer it so that no child gets left behind.  

Academy times

We agree to and ask that clients maintain responsible relations regarding academy times. The academy will be open Monday to Friday. Please take note:

Gr 4 – 8 will be assisted Monday to Thursday, 8h00 to 13h00.
Gr 9 and up will be assisted from 8h00 to 13h00 Monday to Thursday and 8h00 to 13h00 on most Fridays.

The academy follows Government school holidays, but changes could be made at the discretion of the Academy:

Language of Teaching and learning:  English is the main medium. Afrikaans is taught as First Additional Language.

The role of the tutor in home and distance education:

The primary role of a tutor is to provide subject-specific support. 

This includes:

  • Providing a safe, public environment that complies with minimum health and safety requirements to provide subject-specific support.
  • Guiding the parent/guardian in understanding their role and responsibilities.
  • Assisting learners with Impaq products purchased by the parent, providing individualized attention and subject-specific assistance. This extends to any other academic service provider the parent/guardian chooses.
  • Guiding learners through subject content to ensure that they are prepared for tests and exams.
  • Invigilating tests and exams under strict exam conditions. The Nurture Tree Academy offers trained, registered invigilators.
